Starting in December, we partnered with local distilleries Jos. A. Magnus and Cotton & Reed to offer a fun, hands on approach to combining two popular past times that pair well together. Imbibing in spirits, while creating art that could be gifted for the holidays.
During the month of January our workshops took on more of a design for social justice focus as we neared Inauguration. We held four different workshops and printed 300+ posters together throughout the DMV at unique venues such as The Lemon Bowl, Big Chief, Bump'n Grind and Republic Restoratives.
We taught the community to screen print by making a set of resistance ALL AMERICAN all-inclusive statement posters and coasters, using the vintage technique of screen printing juxtaposed with our custom designs.
These workshops offered safe spaces where the community could come for support - to share, create and have healthy discourse in a face to face real life welcoming atmosphere. It was also healing and therapeutic as stress relief, self care and self expression as a way to alchemize our fears, anger and frustrations into hope, fuel for the resistance, unity and action. Our workshop at Bump'n Grind was featured here on dcfocused.com.
We are now offering all of our resistance poster designs for FREE DOWNLOAD.
